Nigerian striker Asisat Oshoala on Saturday won her first silverware with her London club as Arsenal Ladies beat their Chelsea counterparts to lift the SSE Women’s FA Cup in front of a record crowd at Wembley Stadium.
Oshoala who was booked during the game had couple of chances to cap her wonder display with a goal but she just couldn’t find the target and there was no cause for worries for the Gunners as Dan Carter’s spectacular first-half strike was enough to save the day for the Londoners.
The goal for Carter came in the 18th minute when defender Casey Stoney sent a diagonal pass to her on the left flank and Carter opted to come inside on her right foot before unleashing a fabulous curling effort into the top-right corner.
There were fair tries from both teams but there were no more goals as Arsenal held on for the slim win which hands them their 14th FA Cup win
