Chelsea captain John Terry will be missing in action for the Blues in Sunday’s FA Cup fifth-round tie against Manchester City, manager Guus Hiddink has confirmed
Hiddink on Friday revealed that Terry is yet to fully recover from the hamstring problem that forced him to sit out the Blues’ Champions League last-16 first leg against Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday.
Terry injured himself in the 5-1 win over Newcastle United and he is battling to return back to action with the Blues.
“He will not be fit for this weekend,” Hiddink told reporters this afternoon.
“I saw him this morning. He was with the physios yesterday trying a bit on the pitch, (but) still too many problems to be fit for the weekend.”
Hiddink is hopeful that Terry will be able to return later this month against Southampton and when the veteran defender is back in the team it will be his 700th appearance for Chelsea.
