There will be a fierce battle on Sunday afternoon at Stamford Bridge as Chelsea and Manchester City go head-on in the star fixture for the FA Cup,Fifth Round.
A place in the quarter final and inching closer to Wembley are enough attraction to bring out the best in Chelsea and City as they are both expected to give a fierce display.
For many, the Blues look hungrier for FA Cup success more than the Citizens as it is one of the few ways left for them to get a form of silverware in what has so far been a torrid season.
It is yet to be seen if a winner will emerge today or a replay will forced just as it was the case between Hull City and Arsenal on Saturday.
Chelsea team news: Captain John Terry, Radamel Falcao and Kurt Zouma are all out of Sunday’s tie. Nemanja Matic is once again available after sitting out midweek due to suspension. New signings Miazga and Pato remain on the fringes of the first-team, though the former was on the bench as an emergency option on Tuesday night and could serve the same role on Sunday as well.
With the loss against PSG, Chelsea’s unbeaten run has come to a close. Time to start a new one!
Manchester City team news: Pellegrini’s men have lost back-to-back home games to fall six points back in the Premier League title chase. One would not expect City to go on a run of three straight defeats, but that’s exactly what they’ll have to do if Chelsea are to progress.
It is further complicating for the visitors as they have their eyes on the upcoming trip to Kiev for Wednesday’s Champions League match, which supposedly will see them field a younger, less experienced lineup on Sunday (though a similar move just resulted in Iheanacho scoring a hat-trick in the previous round for them).
