Head coach of Niger Tornadoes FC Abdulahi Biffo has commended the performance of his opponent in Monday’s NPFL rescheduled week 17 fixture Mountain of Fire and Ministries FC [ MFM FC ]
Biffo and his team went down 2-0 to the Lagos based outfit MFM FC at Agege Stadium on Monday morning in a game that was rescheduled due to heavy rainfall on Sunday.
The Minna based outfit manager in an exclusive interview with 366football.com wished his side were able to at least pick up point in Lagos but was full of praise for the Olukoya Boys who are still unbeaten at home this season.
“My team is a team that like to play together but today theyr were jittery. Maybe the nature of the pitch did not allow them to play their game especially in the first half.
“The second goal was conceded because of the nature of the pitch. It was slippery and that caused my defender to slip and give up possession which resulted in a goal. Overall i thought both sides had a good game and congratulations to MFM FC for the victory.” Biffo told 366football after the NPFL clash.
An own goal from Tornadoes’ Abiodun Adebayo gave the home side the lead before Stephen Odey eased the nerves from the stands with a superb finish for his sixth goal of the season.
The 2-0 victory and three points means MFM remain static on the NPFL table at eighth position with 26 points after 17 league fixtures while Tornadoes who have won six, drawn 2 and lost nine in 17 league games sit eight places and six points behind their host on Monday.
Up next for MFM in the NPFL campaign is an away trip to Nnewi where they face Ifeanyi Ubah FC while Biffo and his troops welcome fourth placed Kano Pillars to Confluence stadium on Wednesday.
