Midtjylland of Denmark midfielder Rilwan Hassan says they can eliminate Manchester United from the Europa League following their 2-1 win over the former English champions at the MCH Arena on Thursday night.
In an exclusive interview with fcnaija.com, Hassan said they will be targeting a draw when they play the return leg at Old Trafford, but admits it will be a tough job.
“I believe with full concentration and hard work, we will get a draw at their home ground,” he told fcnaija.com.
“It’s not going to be easy down there with a lot of spectators (at Old Trafford), we just have to go there and play just as we did yesterday.”
Speaking on the famous win over the former European champions, the 25-year old Nigerian said it was a difficult match as Manchester United gave them a lot of problems, but says they also posed their own threat against the struggling Louis van Gaal side.
“It was a very tough game but we were so calm and focused because they were so dangerous whenever we lost the ball. But we also made it difficult for them especially in the first half,” he added.
Hassan started the game for the Wolves, as they came from a goal down to beat United, with another Nigerian, Paul Onuachu – who came off the bench – to score the winner. Hassan was substituted in the 67th minute of the game.
The return leg comes up in three weeks time at Old Trafford and Hassan and teammates will be looking to eliminate another English club from the tournament, having sent Southampton packing.
