Under 23 international Godspower Tower Aniefiok says he has only completed a medical with Tunisian side Etoile du Sahel ahead of a three and a half year switch from Kano Pillars to the North African outfit as against the reported four and a half year signed deal.
The former Akwa United man in an exclusive interview with 366football.com expressed delight at the successful medical while he awaits a positive response from the club in a couple of days in a bid to completing the move that will see him link up with former Flying Eagles star Moses Orkuma.
“First of all I want to state that I am yet to pen a deal with Etoile du Sahel but I have moved a step closer to it by completing my medicals at the club.
“I am aware of media reports making the rounds that I have signed a four and a half year deal. The truth is, there is no concrete or signed agreement yet as I speak to you right now. Yes I have been in Tunisia in the last couple of days, I was there for my medicals and to the glory of God it was successful.
“We are now waiting for a response from Etoile du Sahel and once that happens, I should be on my way back to Tunis in ten days. I am positive a deal will be agreed, but as we speak i haven’t signed a ny deal.” The skillful midfielder stated.
The light-skinned mercurial midfielder who made his debut on the Glo NPFL stage two seasons ago under the then Akwa United boss coach Patrick Udoh was part of the triumphant Dream Team VI who against all odds conquered Africa in the just concluded AFCON U23 Championship in Senegal while also qualifying for the 2016 Rio Olympics in Brazil.
