Roberto Martinez has been listed by Inter Milan as a possible candidate to replace Roberto Mancini at the end of the season, reports in Italy have suggested.
Inter Milan are likely to part ways with Mancini in the summer if he fails to get the club into the Champions League and Martinez, along with Diego Simeone and Frank De Boer have all been listed as possible candidates to take charge at the San Siro next season.
Inter presently sit fourth in Serie A, and face third place Fiorentina this weekend and what could be a battle for the final Champions League spot and the 2010 European champions are already making contingency plans should Mancini fail to get them into Europe’s premier club competition, even though his contract doesn’t expire until the summer of 2017.
Reports claim Simeone remains Inter owner, Erick Thohir’s first choice following his exploits with Atletico Madrid but it seems highly unlikely the Argentinean will leave the Vicente Calderon for the San Siro.
That is where Everton’s Martinez comes in, as well as Ajax’s De Boer and Sampdoria Coach Vincenzo Montella and Sassuolo’s Eusebio Di Francesco.
