Dele Alli was the hero for high-flying Tottenham Hotspurs as they secured a vital 1-1 draw against Everton at the Goodison Park.
Tottenham Hotspurs are rated as hot favourities for the premier league title this season and went into the tie high on confidence as they were unbeaten in their last three game but it was the Toffees that took the lead.
It was wonderful noise from the home fans when former Tottenham star Aaron Lenon took a Romelu Lukaku knock down on his chest and fired a half volley past Hugo LIoris in goal for the away side.
However, Spurs level in the latter stages of the first period as Dele Alli, who has Nigerian roots, collects a wonderful pass from Alderweireld before finishing into the bottom corner for his fifth Premier League goal of the season.
The game ended goalless but the away side will feel gutted as they had two shots from Harry Kane and Ben Davis hit the woodwork. The draw leaves Spurs with 36 points in fourth place on the premier league log while Everton are 11th with 27 points.
