Spain head coach Vincete del Bosque has named a formidable 19-man squad that saw a late inclusion of Arsenal youngster Hector Bellerin for the 2016 European Championship set to kick off next month in France.
Bosque is expected to reveal the final four at a later date as Spain look to make a better defence of their Euro crown than they did of the World Cup two years ago.
Bellerín who has been linked with Barcelona makes the final squad for the European Cup following a hip injury to Real Madrid defender Dani Carvajal –who was substituted in tears during the Glacticos’ Champions League final penalty shoot-out win over Atlético in Milan.
The 21-year-old only made his international debut in a 3-1 victory over Bosnia and Herzegovina on Sunday.
Atlético trio Saúl Ñíguez, Juanfran and Koke remain in the frame to go to France next month alongside Real Madrid’s Sergio Ramos, Isco and Lucas Vázquez.
The 19-man Spain squad include, another four to be added.
Goalkeepers: Iker Casillas (Porto), David De Gea (Man United), Sergio Rico (Sevilla).
Defenders: Gerard Pique, Jordi Alba, Marc Bartra (all Barcelona), Cesar Azpilicueta (Chelsea), Mikel San Jose (Athletic Bilbao), Hector Bellerin (Arsenal).
Midfielders: Bruno (Villarreal), Sergio Busquets, Andres Iniesta (both Barcelona), Thiago (Bayern Munich), David Silva (Manchester City), Pedro, Cesc Fabregas (both Chelsea).
Forwards: Aritz Aduriz (Athletic Bilbao), Nolito (Celta Vigo), Alvaro Morata (Juventus).
