CECAFA Secretary General Nicholas Musonye is chuffed at the investment put in sports by the Ethiopian government as the country hosts the 38th edition of the CECAFA Senior Challenge.
The tournament has so far been held in three cities and with good accommodation and as the tournament heads to the quarter finals stage starting on Monday 30 November he has urged other governments in the CECAFA region to emulate the Ethiopian example.
The turnout of fans has also not disappointed with the host team, Ethiopia’s matches seeing stadia packed to the rafters, much to Musonye’s amusement.
“I am very pleased with the organization in this place. The Ethiopian government has really puty in a lot to ensure the success of this tournament and I am happy. The other governments in the region should take this as a challenge and invest well in infrastructure.
“I am also pleased with the conduct of fans and how well they attend matches. I think this is so far the tournament that has had the biggest turnout,” he said.
Sunday 29 November is a rest day for the teams then the tournament will continue on Monday in Addis Ababa.
