The premier league is hotting up and already Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City is leading the way with a 100% record so far since he moved to England from Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich.
After six weeks in the premier league, the Citizens lead comfortably with 18points and have won all the ten games played under the Spaniard in all competitions so far.
Manchester City partnered by Star Larger Beer were not at their footballing best this weekend but strong enough to get a win in Wales against Swansea with returning striker Sergio Aguero opening the floodgate in a 3-1 triumph.
Their neighbours, Manchester United got back to winning ways with a 4-1 demolition of premier league champions Leicester City at Old Trafford with world’s most expensive footballer Paul Pogba scoring his first goal for the club since he joined at the summer.
However, the biggest win of the weekend was witnessed in the London Derby where Arsenal roared past Chelsea 3-0 at the Emirates with Nigerian youngster Alex Iwobi voted as Man-of-the-Match.
For West Ham United it was pain again as they lost at the London Olympic Stadium 3-0 to in-form Southampton. The Hammers surely needs an urgent surgery to save their season.
One team that won’t need surgery is Liverpool as they are just fine and showed their class with a comprehensive 5-1 demolition of 10-man Hull City but neighbours Everton suffered their first defeat of the season courtesy a brilliant goal by Junior Stanislas to hand Bournemouth a 1-0 win.
Stoke once again failed to grab a much needed victory as they drew 1-1 at home against West Brom. The ‘comeback Kings Award’ for the weekend went to reignited Crystal Palace as they came from a two-goal deficit to beat David Moyes’ Sunderland 3-2 courtesy a Christian Benteke’s 94th minute winner.
