Barcelona boss Luis Enrique lamented the Ctalans’ ineffectiveness in front of goal following Saturday’s 2-1 defeat to Sevilla.
Barcelona suffered their second La Liga defeat of the season –their second in three matches with Michael Krohn-Dehli scoring and setting up another as Sevilla triumphed over the champions.
Enrique in an interview after the clash says he cannot believe his lads were only able to find the net once especially after the Catalans hit the post three times and exposed the home side’s defensive frailties.
“I can’t believe we only scored one goal after the ball spent so much time around their goal line. Both teams created a lot of chances”, said the Barcelona boss.
“We aren’t in very good goalscoring form, not at all, but I’m sure that will change over the course of the season.” The Barcelona boss is quoted as saying on Marca.
Enrique also admitted that Sevilla were better during the opening stages of the second half when they scored their two goals, adding that the wild pace of the match and a lack of possession did not help his side either. A late rally from Enrique’s men came up short in Sánchez Pizjuán with Neymar netting the Catalans’ only consolation from the spot.
