Barcelona manager Luis Enrique raged at Atletico Madrid defender Luis Felipe for a horrendous tackle on Lionel Messi that could have left him with a leg break and hospitalized during yesterday’s 2-1 win.
Lionel Messi cancelled out Koke’s opener before Luis Suarez scored the winner but the game turned ugly as Atletico players resulted to reckless tackles to stop the fleet footed Barcelona players and deservedly picked two straight red cards as Diego Godin and Luis Felipe got the marching orders for malicious fouls on the goalscorers.
However, it was Felipe’s tackle on Messi that left Enrique bemused as he found the tackle shocking.
“You all saw my reaction, it was shocking,” Enrique, whose team are now unbeaten in their last 26 games in all competitions, told reporters.
Barcelona extended their lead on table to three points following the victory and still have a game in hand.
