Coaches handling the Kenyan Premier League (KPL) clubs have endorsed Nick Mwendwa for the coming Football Kenya Federation (FKF) top post ahead of the November 2015 elections.
The coach meeting at the Panafric Hotel in Nairobi, stated that the FKF Premier League chairman holds the best promise for the future of football in the country.
Speaking on behalf of the coaches, the Ulinzi Stars head coach Robert Matano said there is a need for change in the country’s football management and stated that the coaches’ body felt Mwendwa is the right person.
“We are 53 coaches here today, 12 from Kenyan Premier League (KPL) clubs and the rest from the other leagues. We’ve come together to speak with one voice. As main stakeholders of the game, we need change in our game and believe Nick Mwendwa is the one to bring the change required.
“We have to change the our game if we are to do well and Nick has been involved in football as the Chairman of Kariobangi Sharks and he knows and understands the problems we are undergoing. He’s the right person to lead us. He’s got good ideas that will turn around everything in the Kenyan football industry,” he said.
