Ahmed Hassan scored the first goal and created the fourth as Braga defeated Fenerbahce 4-1 on Thursday night to progress to the quarterfinals of the Europa League.
The 23-year old Egypt striker latched on to a pass on the edge of the penalty area and immediately fired a great first-timer into the bottom left corner for what was an amazing finish, leaving the Fenerbahce goalkeeper with no chance.
And with just seven minutes left on the clock with the score a 3-1, Hassan displayed great vision to send a pass to Rafa Silva, who showed brilliant composure inside the box to bury the ball inside the left post to complete the rout against the Turkish giants.
He has now scored 14 goals in all competitions for the Portuguese club and is one of the five overseas-based players in the Egypt squad to face Nigeria.
The Pharaohs face the Super Eagles in back-to-back games this month – first in Kaduna on the 25th and four days later in Alexandria – in the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
Hassan, alongside Mohamed Salah, Mohamed Elneny, Mahmoud Hassan and Amr Warda are the overseas-based players selected for the games by coach Hector Cuper and they are expected to join up with the rest of the squad latest on Tuesday in Cairo, before they fly into Nigeria on Wednesday.
