Head Coach of the Egyptian national football team Hector Cuper has reeled out the list of five foreign-based pros he would be counting on in the upcoming crucial Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matches against the Super Eagles later this month.
Topping the list of foreign-based pro is Roma’s Mohammed Salah and Arsenal’s January signing Mohamed Elneny, who has begin to book a regular place in the Gunners’ starting lineups .
Egyptian winger Mahmoud Trezeguet’ Hassan who is on loan from Anderlecht is also listed as he will be replacing injured winger Mohamed Abdel-Shafi, who plays for Saudi side Ahly Jeddah, in the Pharaohs squad.
The Pharaohs full squad including local based players will be released on Tuesday.
Egypt are presently in front in Group G; having garnered the maximum six points from their first two games, the Eagles are second-placed with four points but only the group winners are guaranteed automatic qualification for the 2017 Cup of Nations.
The five foreign-based players are as follows:
Mohamed Salah (Roma-Italy), Mohamed Elneny (Arsenal-England), Ahmed Hassan Kouka (Sporting Braga- Portugal), Mahmoud Trezeguet’ Hassan (Anderlecht-Belgium) and Amr Warda (Panetolikos – Greek)
