Super Eagles defender Elderson Echiejile has challenged his Monaco team-mates to put behind them their painful Coupe de Ligue defeat against Bordeaux when they travel to the their League title challenge against Troyes this Saturday.
“We were all unhappy after the game yesterday but we fully concentrated on Saturday. We must continue to work to ensure that the group continues to grow.
“We have to pick ourselves up and go again at the weekend because it’s another big test against a very tricky side.”
Echiejile who came on for Mario Pasalic in the defeat also revealed that his coach Leonardo Jardim has demanded for a win from the encounter.
“The coach has insisted on good finish the year this Saturday against the Troyes,” he said at a press conference ahead of the game on Thursday.
Echiejile admits he is delighted at the run of games he’s getting in the team.
He added: “I feel good on this team, I play more and gaining confidence.”
Echiejile has played 18 games in all competitions so far this season for Monaco who are in third place in Ligue 1, 17 points off league leaders Paris Saint Germain.
The Nigerian international has represented Nigeria at three African Cup of Nations one FIFA World Cup.
