Monaco will be gunning for a win at Bastia on Saturday night after two straight draws in the French Ligue 1, according to their Nigeria defender Elderson Echiejile.
Last weekend, Monaco were forced to a thrilling 3-3 draw by Olympique Marseille, before they were held to a 1-1 draw at home by Caen and the 27 year old is disappointed that they’ve failed to win in their last three games.
They also lost to Anderlectch in last week’s Europa League game at home.
“We are looking forward to win at Bastia on Saturday after drawing our last two games home and away,” the Nigeria defender disclosed to his official website www.elderson3.com.
Echiejile has made nine Ligue 1 (seven starts) appearances and provided one assist so far this term for Monaco. He has also chalked up three yellow cards.
Monaco are sixth on the table with 25 points from 16 matches.
In a chat wit 366football.com, Echiejile also hopes Nigeria improves in their current FIFA ranking after they dropped seven steps.
“We just have to keep working hard and ensure we climb high as possible on the ranking to boost our confidence and respect.”
