Chemelil Sugar FC midfielder Hillary Echesa says his awarding as the July Player of the Month was a culmination of hard work put in, both as a team and an individual.
The midfielder beat City Stars forward Ezekiel Odera, AFC Leopards Ian Otieno and Ulinzi Stars’ John Mark Makwatta in the votes cast by the Sports Journalists Association of Kenya (SJAK) to win the award and while acknowledging it, he lauded his team for making it happen as he promised to work harder.
“In football there is no short cut, you just have to work hard and make the right decisions for you to get good results and it starts with the individual player before it gets to the team. As a team I should say we worked really hard in the month and personally, I also put in a lot in the month and I am happy to get the award.
“I’d like to thank the entire team for making it possible for me and I promise to work even harder,” he stated.
Echesa’s team plays Sony Sugar in the Week 23 matches and the midfielder will be hoping he can extend his fine form for the team.
