Ahead of Saturday’s clash between Nigeria U23 side –Dream Team VI and their Algerian counterpart, Warri Wolves centre-forward forward Kufre Ebong has turned to the verses of the Holy book to invoke winning in favor of Nigeria.
Having both qualified for the Men’s football event of the 2016 Rio Olympics, the Nigeria U-23 team and their Algerian counterparts will be locked in a fresh battle; this time to know who will be champions of Africa in this cadre of football on the continent.
Interestingly, Nigeria and Algeria had a feel of themselves during the group phase and the then final group clash ended in a barren stalemate which was enough for both teams to proceed into the semi-finals, edging Senegal and South Africa respectively.
Ebong who has started in two of the U23’s four fixtures so far in championship on his official facebook page few hours to the kick off the final game wrote;
“HEAR my prayer, O lord, And let my cry come to you. Do not hide your face from me in the day of my trouble; incline your ear to me; in the day I cll, answer me speedily. AMEN AMEN. Ebong stated.
The Nigeria Vs Algeria clash comes up at the Leopold Sedar Senghor Stadium, Dakar by 8pm local time.
