Barcelona B defender Godswill Ekpolo has arrived the Nigeria Olympic dream team camp and trained for the first time with the team in Abuja on Thursday evening.
The 21-year old will also travel with the team to the United States of America, where they are due to have their final preparation before travelling to Brazil for the Olympic Games.
Ekpolo has been touted to be a part of the team from beginning, and even though he featured in the 1-0 friendly win against Brazil last March, there were doubts whether he would eventually make the team given Barcelona’s reluctance to release him
Latest indications have now suggested that the defender will not only travel to the United States with the Nigeria team, he could also make the final squad to the Olympic Games.
The youngster plays as a right-back and will be a welcome addition to Nigeria coach Samson Siasia, given the spate of withdrawals that has hit the team.
