Former Borussia Dortmund striker Ciro Immobile has joined Super Eagles’ midfielder Ogenyi Onazi at Serie A outfit Lazio, according an official announcement by the club.
The Italian international underwent a medical examination in Rome ahead of his move from Sevilla, having spent the second half of last season on-loan at Torino.
According to reports, the has joined the Biancocelesti are paying €8.5m to secure the 26-year-old’s services on a permanent basis.
This is contrary to previous speculation, which suggested that Immobile would initially arrive on a one-year loan deal.
The Stadio Olimpico club in a statement wrote: “SS Lazio communicates that it has signed the player Ciro Immobile on a permanent basis,” a brief announcement on Lazio’s website reads.
Immobile joined the La Liga club on a season-long loan spell from Borussia Dortmund in July 2015, before signing on a permanent deal worth €11m.
The 26-year-old who made two appearances for his country at Euro 2016 was then loaned to Serie A side Torino, where he scored five goals in 14 games last season.
