The scheduled Kenyan Premier League (KPL) clash pitting Gor Mahia against AFC Leopards will run as scheduled on Sunday, with the only change being in the timing of the match, the KPL CEO Jack Oguda has confirmed.
There were fears that the match would be postponed over fears of lack of adequate security after clashing on the same date with the second edition of the First Lady Half Marathon but Oguda says he has been in touch with top security organs and the game will go on.
However, instead of the 3pm kickoff, the match will start at 4pm.
“We have the assurance from the security organs around that adequate security will be provided for the game so I can confirm the game is on. The only change will be with the kickoff time; it will start at 4pm and not 3pm as earlier stated,” he said.
The match will be the two rivals’ 79th meeting in history.
