A week that started so well for Tottenham Hotspurs midfielder Dele Alli could end in disappointment after television footage showed the youngster punching West Bromwich Albion’s Claudio Yacob and has been charged with violent conduct.
The midfielder was named the Young Player of the Year on Sunday 24 April and featured for Tottenham in the 1 – 1 draw with West Brom on Monday but a review of the match had him hitting Yacob and could see him miss the remainder of the season.

A confirmed violent conduct charge attracts a three – match ban and with Tottenham remaining with three matches to end the season, the West Brom game could well have been his last for this season.
The midfielder has until close of business on Wednesday 27 April to respond to the charge
Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino said he had not seen the incident, which occurred in the 26th minute, but told BBC Sports: “Sometimes the opponents find him and try to provoke. They know he has a strong character and may react.”
Tottenham are seven points adrift of league leaders Leicester with three games remaining.
