South Korean Son Heung – min scored his fifth goal in five games to help Tottenham Hotspurs to a 1 – 0 win the game against Russian side CSKA Moscow in the Group E Champions League clash in Moscow.
The striker slotted in after collecting Erik Lamela’s pass on the 71st minute to secure the first win for Spurs after a 1 – 2 loss to Monaco in the first group game.
Spurs could have won by more as Dele Alli hit the crossbar with a fierce 20-yard strike before Son scored.
The Korean went into the game on the back of red hot form back at home and with top striker Harry Kane injured and out of action, his input has become even more important.
Son followed up his two-goal displays in the league victories at Stoke and Middlesbrough with the winner on Tuesday – another neat finish that squirmed under the outstretched hand of home keeper Igor Akinfeev.
He will be hoping to repeat with his heroics when the North London side gets to the third game of the campaign against his former team, Bayer Leverkusen.
Meanwhile, Monaco went top of the group after playing to a 1 – 1 draw with visitors Leverkusen in France.
Kenyan international Victor Wanyama featured in the entire game in Russia with the only blemish for him being the 11th minute yellow card.
