Cristiano Ronaldo will miss his first match of this season when Spanish giants Real Madrid travel to the El Stadio Rayo to take on Rayo Vallecano in their Saturday 23 April La Liga clash.
The Portuguese forward limped off injured in the final minutes of the win over Villarreal in midweek and has been omitted from the team that will play the game.
Ronaldo had played in every minute of Real Madrid’s La Liga campaign prior to limping off against Villarreal.
Reports have it that manager Zinedine Zidane is sweating to have him available for the Tuesday Champions League trip to Manchester City.
He will not be the only one missing.
Casemiro, who picked up his fifth yellow card on Wednesday, earned an automatic one-match suspension.
Right-back Dani Carvajal who was injured against Getafe last weekend, is still is not back to full fitness.
