Diego Costa is set for a quick comeback to action as he trained on Thursday with his Chelsea teammates thus dousing concerns over his fitness following the injury he sustained during Sunday’s clash with Arsenal.
Costa proved to be the difference at the Emirates Stadium, drawing the foul from which Per Mertesacker was sent off before scoring the only goal of the game five minutes later.
However, he was not able to help his side see out the victory having been forced off with a knee injury in the 68th minute.
There were initial concerns that the Brazilian-born Spain international would miss this weekend’s FA Cup clash with MK Dons as a result of his injury, but the problem does not appear to be too serious after he was pictured making his way out for training with the squad.
Though currently on the path of quick recovery, Cost is expected to be rested for Sunday’s match even if he is fit, has scored six goals in six games under Guus Hiddink so far.
