Diego Costa’s future at Chelsea is not certain, so says boss Antonio Conte amidst reports the striker is set for a return to Atletico Madrid.
There have been reports in Spain and England about the future of the controversial striker, with the reports claiming Atletico are set to make a bid for him and Conte has appeared to give credence to the reports after the striker wasn’t used in the 3-2 loss to Real Madrid in a friendly, as he claims he is not certain if Costa will remain at Stamford Bridge.
“I can say that today Costa is a Chelsea player. He didn’t play in these games because of injury and if he solves the injury and I see in training that he is in good shape it can be possible to see him in the next game against Milan.
“But I can say only this. I speak only for today and today Costa is Chelsea’s player. Tomorrow if you ask me if Costa will remain with us, I don’t know,” Conte said.
The Blues have already signed Michy Batshuayi from Marseille and are on the trail of Romelu Lukaku, whose signing could signal the end of Diego Costa’s time at the club.
