Wales are through to the second round of the Euro Championships after a bullish display against Russia that saw the first timers beat their more fancied opponents 3 – 0 in the Group B clash staged in Toulouse on Monday 20 June.
The display left manager Chris Coleman purring as he awaits his second round opponents and stated the fearlessness in his side, noting that they played better when in possession than they did against England in the last match.
Wales’ display and comfortable win saw the team finish the group stages top of the group and as they proceed to the quarter final on the first ever attempt. Coleman says they have no reason absolutely to fear any team.
“The three points are massive for us but the performance was even sweeter than the points.
“My players were brave. I don’t mean without the ball; I mean brave in possession. We were brilliant without the ball against England, but with it, we didn’t play like we know we could.
“We have to see who we get next but we play with no fear. When we play like that, why should we have any fear?” he stated.
