Nyanza based Kenyan Premier League (KPL) side Chemelil Sugar FC will miss the services of midfielder Hillary Echesa in the league match against Kakamega Homeboyz on Saturday 23 July at the Chemelil Sports Complex.
The midfielder, the leading scorer at the Millers’ side has been in great form in the recent matches but will miss this one after he sustained a cut in the lip during the team’s Thursday training session after colliding with a team mate as revealed by the team’s head coach Francis Baraza.
The coach notes that the player required eight stitches for the cut, which in effect ruled him out of the match and he termed it a big blow even as he remained confident the void in the midfield would be filled.
“Our key man Echesa will miss the Homeboyz game after he sustained a bad cut in the lip in our Thursday training session after a collision, accidental, with Mwita. The injury was bad and he needed eight stitches, which rules him out of this match. It is a big blow but we will find someone good to replace him in the match,” he said.
Echesa has five goals this season; he is the leading scorer at the team, having scored in each of the team’s last three matches.
