It’s like the days of Diego Costa at Chelsea is numbered as the club is willing to trade him for Atletico Madrid’s Jackson Martinez, according to reports.
Costa has only scored four times in 17 games for Chelsea this season and Martinez has fared any better as he has failed to hit the heights that made him a powerful force in Portugal playing for FC Porto as he has registered just three goals for his new club.
The Brazilian born Spanish international is still regarded as a cult figure at Atletico, having helped the capital side win the La Liga title in the 2013-14 season. Costa is understood to have fallen out with sacked Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho and famously aimed his bib at him during a match.
According to Fichajes.com, a swap deal involving the two players has been discussed and both are said to be open to the possibility but a new twist arises as manager Diego Simeone is heavily linked with The Blues at the summer.
And that made quell the deal as the Argentine is a huge fan of Costa and will love to see him lead the line at Stamford Bridge if he is appointed the new manager of Chelsea.
