Chelsea forward Diego Costa has revealed that throwing his bib at Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho was just an impulse.
After scoring just three league goals in as many games for the Blues, the 27-year old forward was left on the bench for the goalless draw with Tottenham at White Hart Lane last month where he threw his bib in Mourinho’s direction following the the coach’s decision to field a different player.
However, the former Atletico Madrid man claims his relationship with the Special One is fine, insisting the bib incident was a mistake.
“Our relationship is exciting, we got along very well. There are things I have to control, but it [throwing the bib] was an impulse.
“I have to improve. The start of the season hasn’t been good for me, either in play or in goals. I know I have to improve so that [Vincent] Del Bosque calls me up for the Euros. I have to work and fight.” Costa Spanish radio station Onda Cero.
