Chelsea have confirmed the departure of Ghanaian star Christian Atsu to Spanish outfit Malaga on a loan deal that will keep him with the La Liga side until the end of the season.
The 24-year old who spent the first half of the season on loan with Bournemouth in the Premier League will now continue his development in La Liga for the rest of the 2015/16 campaign according to an official statement by the Chelsea.
“Christian Atsu has today joined Spanish side Malaga on loan until the end of the season.” Chelsea confirmed.
Atsu returned to Chelsea earlier this month after a lack of first-team opportunities and a stress fracture in his back forced the 24-year-old to cut short a frustrating spell at Bournemouth, where he failed to make a single Premier League appearance.
The Blues’ interim manager Guus Hiddink initially indicated that he was impressed with Atsu’s performance in training, but on Friday the Dutchman revealed that he had encouraged the winger to go on loan again.
