Super Eagles Coach Sunday Oliseh has chosen to stay cautious despite his side’s 2-0 win in Saturday’s 2016 African Nations Championship, CHAN final round, first leg qualifier against Etalons of Burkina Faso.
Oliseh declared that the home-based Eagles will approach the second leg in Ouagadougou next weekend like they had not achieved anything from the game in Port Harcourt.
“We have not won anything yet,” Oliseh submitted after the match at the Adokie Amasiemaka Stadium in Port Harcourt.
He added: “If we could score two goals here, nothing stops them from scoring the same number of goals in the return leg.
“It will be an interesting second leg.”
Nigeria is eyeing a second straight qualification for the CHAN tournament having finally broke the jinx in 2014 where she made it to South Africa to feature in the competition reserved for senior players plying their trade in their country’s domestic league.
The winner over two legs between Nigeria and Burkina Faso will be eligible for a place at the 4th African Nations Championship taking place in Rwanda early next year.
