Chairman of the League Management Company (LMC), Shehu Dikko has doled out a cash gift of $10,000 to the victorious home-based Eagles on behalf of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) after their win over the Mena of Niger of Monday.
Diko was one of the top dignitaries in the stands as the Eagles gave a breathtaking second half performance which saw them secure an emphatic 4-1 win over their West African neighbors.
The LMC boss who also is the second vice president of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), made the cash presentation to the team at a dinner organised by the Nigerian High Commission in Rwanda.
“The LMC, club owners and all the stakeholders of the league appreciate your excellent display tonight (Monday), we are proud of the team. You guys have been good ambassadors of the league and I have been mandated to present this cash as reward for your hard work,” Dikko said.
Now with the victory over Niger behind, the Super Eagles B team are set for their next test which will be against Tunisia on Friday while Guinea and Niger Republic will take a go at each other in the other Group C contest to boost their chances of reaching the next round of the tournament.
All the 23 players in the Nigeria team, are selected from the NPFL which is organised by the LMC.
