Except a last minute change in travel plans, the Home Eagles squad getting set for the 2016 CHAN tournament will be leaving Abuja on January 2 for a training camp in South Africa, officials have disclosed.
The Home Eagles have opted to camp in Pretoria, South Africa, for the final phase of their build-up for the championship for players featuring in their home leagues.
During their stay in Pretoria, the Super Eagles B team are scheduled to play two warm-up games against Cote d’Ivoire and Angola, who have both qualified for the CHAN in Rwanda.
Nigeria are drawn with Tunisia, Niger and Guinea in Group C of the 2016 CHAN and play their opening match on January 18 in Kigali against Niger.
The home-based Eagles under the tutelage of Coach Stephen Keshi settled for bronze last time out in South Africa but they will hope for a better finish as they travel East of Africa in search of football glory>
