Enyimba coach, Paul Aigbogun has given his words that Peoples Elephant will qualify for the next stage of the CAF Champions League despite starting their campaign on a losing note on Friday.
The Nigeria League Champions were piped 1-0 by their Ugandan counterparts, Vipers FC but for Aigbogun, the slim defeat will be overturned in the second leg and Enyimba will surely progress to the next phase.
Erisa Ssekisambu scored the winner in the 73rd minute of the encounter played at the Nakivubo Stadium and Enyimba Coach reckoned that his side were also guilty of not burying their chances.
“We should not have lost the game. We had enough chances to win,” Aigbogun told Enyimba’s official website.
“I believe we will advance to the next round.
“In the next game, we will have our full squad and play very differently from how we did today. It’s not over for us.
“Vipers have shown what they are capable of, scoring with a rare chance at goal. We too will show what we can do at home.”
The return leg holds in two weeks’ time in Port Harcourt.
