Nigeria FA Cup champions Akwa United have been drawn to face V. Club Mokanda of Congo in the preliminary round one of next year’s CAF Confederation Cup while the country’s other flag bearer Nasarawa United have been pitched against Generation Foot of Senegal.
As stated by CAF on Friday, Akwa United will play away to Mokanda in the first leg before hosting the Congolese side at the Nest of Champions in Uyo for the second leg.
The overall winner will keep a date in March with the winner of the preliminary round fixture between Rwandan side Police versus Atlabara of South Sudan.
Last season “giant killers” Nasarawa United on their part will host the Senegalese in the first leg with the overall winners facing CS Constantinois of Algeria in the next round of the competition.
This fixtures were made public following the conclusion of Friday’s draw for the continent’s two major club competitions, the CAF Champions League and the Confederation Cup.
The matches will be played between February 12 and 28.
