According to the Sun Uk, Manchester United have landed Jose Mourinho’s number one target for the summer Paul Pogba for an astonishing £112m world record fee.
The Red Devils had since agreed a £92m deal with Juventus for the France international but the fee went up as the club agreed to pay his agent Mino Raiola a whopping £20m while the Old Lady will cough up £4m for the Dutch born representative to complete the move.
It will be recalled that Pogba left Manchester United for just £800,000 four years ago after retired manager Sir Alex Ferguson failed to guarantee him a first time spot ahead of the legendary Paul Scholes.
The report claims that Real Madrid’s renewed interest was a major driving force behind the deal being concluded.
“Is there a chance? I don’t know, we’re here working,” Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane said in a recent interview.
“Anything can happen until August 31. He’s not a Madrid player yet. We can’t talk about what might happen. I always say the same to this question.
“Everyone is interested in Pogba. He’s a great player and when you’re Madrid you always want the best. But you have to respect some things.
“He’s a Juve player and today I can’t say anything.
“It’s hard for Madrid to improve their squad, we’ve always had the best. We’ve won with this squad. There are good players, and things can always be improved, and always will be at this club.
“There are always players who can improve the team.”
Manchester United have already signed Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Eric Bailly, and Henrikh Mkhitaryan this season.
