Harambee Stars head coach Bobby Williamson will not put the blame on midfielder Eric Johanna following the team’s exit from the 2015 edition of the CECAFA Senior Challenge.
Johanna missed his spot kick in the quarter final shootouts against Rwanda after the teams played to a barren draw in regular time but Bobby says the loss was only down to hard luck.
He says he wanted a win in regular time but that failed to materialize so it is back to the drawing board for him as Kenya’s title defence end at the quarter finals stage.
“We had come out for a win but it wasn’t to be. Good luck to Rwanda in their remaining games of the tournament.
“Penalties can go either way and I can’t fault Johanna for missing his kick. He showed courage in taking one and he was just unlucky,” he said.
Rwanda will be taking on Sudan in the semis after the win.
