Bloemfontein Celtic clinched the Macufe Cup against Kaizer Chiefs once again. Amakhosi, as expected fielded a weakened line-up due to this annual Cup always being during the international week.
Siwelele won 1-0 at the Free State Stadium to make it four titles in a row in Macufe.
Early on George Maluleka’s strike from distance was easily saved by Ayanda Mtshali.
Celtic played on the counter attack while Chiefs dominated the possession. Just before half-time the Bloemfontein club started to get more into it.
Both clubs exchanged blows in the start of the second half. On the hour Siwelele eventually scored, coming from a counter attack, where Tshegofatso Mabaso slotted the one and only goal.
Chiefs were unable to get back into the game despite pushing forward, and Celtic held on for their sixth title.
