Bloemfontein Celtic are confident about promoting from within, having recently added youth team product Shane April to their first team squad.
The midfielder-cum-striker came the club’s academy ranks to feature in the MultiChoice Diski Challenge, and has now signed a three year deal for Serame Letsoaka’s first team.
“We are delighted to announce the signing of a player with such great technical ability, he has enormous potential and we must commend our youth development coaches, Ditheko Mototo, James Madidilane and Jeffrey Lekgetla for their contribution towards nurturing players for our senior team,” Celtic CEO Khumbulani Konco told the club’s website.
“Promoting players like Shane shows our willingness to give youngsters a chance to grow and eventually represent our country like we did with players like Tshepo Rikhotso and Vusi Shikweni.
“We will in the future continue allowing competent players to be promoted and afforded the chance to grow as soccer players,” added Konco.
