Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema says the police officers who confiscated his car on Thursday night may have made a mistake after he was adjudged to have been behind the wheels without a license.
Benzema was able to drive to Valdebebas on Friday as normal was stopped by police on Thursday night and had his car confiscated because he was supposedly behind the wheel without a licence.
But it appears that the officers in question made a mistake. As Benzema calmly told MARCA after training, “I do have a licence”.
While the striker is currently waiting for a new photo card licence, in the meantime he has a provisional paper authorization issued and stamped by the Spanish Traffic Authority.
but despite showing this document to the police on Thursday and insisting that he was allowed to drive, the officers would not listen and in the end Benzema according to Marca had to be picked up by a member of the Real Madrid staff.
