Tottenham Hotspurs midfielder Nadil Bentaleb has completed a season long loan move to German side Schalke 04.
The 21 – year old Algerian international made his debut at SApures in December 2013 and went on to make 66 appearances for the North London side but has dropped down the pecking order under manager Mauricio Pochettino.
He is hoping to get back to his best in the loan move and is quoted by BBC Sport as saying he always wanted the deal to materialize ever since he heard of the interest.
“I first learned of Schalke’s interest six weeks ago and have been hoping since then that the transfer would be completed,” he said.
He will be looking to command a regular place at the Bundesliga side and to help the team better the fifth place finish it managed in the 2015/16 season.
Meanwhile, Schalke is also said to be close to sealing a deal for Benjamin Stambouli, the 26 – year old Frenchman set to join from French champions Paris Saint Germain.
