Real Madrid Coach Rafa Benitez has raised alarm that there is campaign him, his team and also club president Florentino Perez.
While speaking with reporters, Benitez made accusations that people outside the club are keen to taint himself and Perez, claiming everything that happens at Real is ‘manipulated.’
He told reporters: ‘There is a campaign against Madrid, against Florentino and against me.
‘Everything that happens here is manipulated. I knew I was coming to a club where everything is magnified. I have been 30 years in the dugout and had more than 1,400 games. I know how it is and how you solve it.
‘You concentrate on the job. I know I cannot let myself get distracted. The team is much better than what people think – that has been reflected in some of the matches.’
Real get their season back underway on Wednesday, when they welcome Real Sociedad to the Spanish capital.
Benitez’s side currently sit third on the La Liga table two points adrift of second-placed Atletico Madrid and leaders Barcelona, who have a game in hand.
Polls in major Spanish sport publication AS and Marca have revealed Zinedine Zidane is the boss preferred by Real fans.
