Bayern Munich returned to winning ways in the Bundesliga in stunning fashion on Saturday as they thrashed Stuttgart 4-0 at Allianz Arena to temporarily extend their lead at the top of the table to eight points.
After the disappointing 0-0 draw against Eintracht Frankfurt last Friday, Bayern dusted up themselves; thrashing Arsenal 5-1 on Wednesday and capped up the week with the win over Stuttgart.
It was Arjen Robben that set the balling rolling as he continued fro where he stopped against Arsenal; getting the opening goal inside 11 minutes after a lightning break from the hosts ended with fine work from Douglas Costa to find the Dutchman to chest home the opener.
Bayern doubled their lead seven minutes later and it was Costa this time that added to the tally.
The champions continued their dominant display and Robert Lewandowski made it three eight minutes before the break.
Pep Guardiola’s side had scored four goals or more in each of their last five home matches, and they ensured that that record continued when Muller stooped to head in a fourth as the half drew to a close.
Bayern Munich did not do much in the second half but they firmly kept their advantage and effectively made it 12 games unbeaten to start the Bundesliga season
