SuperSport United began the season with ambitions to win the Premier Soccer League. Since then they’ve lost their way under previous coach Gordon Igesund.
With Stuart Baxter having taken over the helm a month ago, the British coach believes United can move up into the Top 8 of the PSL.
“If you look at the way we are playing right now, we want to maintain the good performances,” Baxter told the media.
“We want to make sure we finish in the top eight in the league and then fight for the Nedbank Cup.”
A top eight finish would qualify SuperSport for the MTN8, the first knockout Cup of each season.
“We have to evaluate the team and the players at the end of the season and see what we can do in the preseason.
“For now it’s about doing well in the remaining matches of the season,” Baxter said.
