Ugandan left back Shafik Batambuze is on course to completing a deal to join Tusker FC from Western Stima ahead of the 2016 Kenyan Premier League (KPL) season.
Tusker has been restructuring after a poor show in 2015 and with a new head coach, Ugandan Paul Nkata, Batambuze is reported to be the Brewers’ next target after sealing deals for Collins Shivachi and Harun Nyakha.
Batambuze, speaking to 366football.com on the Brewers’ interest, confirms there has been approach from the team and stated that he is open to a move though he confirmed that a deal has not been reached yet.
“They have contacted me and I believe a deal will be sealed in the next few days because talks have advanced well. It is a good team and with title ambitions so I will be glad if this happens,” he said.
Batambuze was on his second stint at Western Stima, having joined from Sofapaka in mid season.
