Alhaji Tanko Abu Seidu Barry, the CEO of Cecil Hunters FC has stated that recycling coaches in Ghana is negatively affecting talented young coaches.
Up and coming coaches Abubakar Yusif, Tanko Shaibu and Solomon Odwo are believed to require a real chance to move up the ladder.
“The GFA’s habit of recycling coaches of the various national teams is, in fact, very worrying. This is disturbing and is also destabilising the various national teams,” Seidu Barry wrote in a statement that was printed in the Daily Graphic in Ghana.
“For instance, going by Coach Abubakar Yusif’s proven track record in Ghana football, he deserves to handle a national team such as the Black Meteors.”
“Coach Tanko Shaibu’s performance with Hearts of Oak, Amidaus Professionals, Medeama SC, and lately Windy Professionals as well as that of Berekum Chelsea’s Solomon Odwo is of such an opportunity,” added Barry.
He also emphasized the importance of the National Sports College at Winneba, and the Ghanaman School of Soccer Excellence in Prampram for camping bases.
“Why are national players camped only at Prampram? The Winneba Sports College which is being efficiently run by the new Director, Ersamus Adorkor, has the capacity to handle any national team.
“Facilities there have been enhanced and they are capable of hosting any team,” he emphasised.
