The Kenyan Premier League takes a three week break after the week 25 matches on Friday 23 – Sunday 25 September and Chemelil Sugar FC head coach Francis Baraza has stated that he will give his players a week off.
The break, to pave way for the GOtv Shield and the international week will render the team inactive and the coach has opted to give the players a break to allow them freshen up.
The team was eliminated from the GOtv Shield three weeks ago by Ulinzi Stars and despite taking the break to give his players a rest, he registered his displeasure at the break.
“We do not have a game in the next three weeks or so and thus we will be taking a short break for a week. I have already released the players but for the record I need to state that I am not happy with this break because we were in good form and the team was at the right level.
“When we resume it will be more of starting over again and that is not very healthy for players. We will try and get a few friendly matches to keep the players busy and in the right shape,” he said.
